Learning opportunities at St Clares

St Clare's Curriculum contains a variety of learning opportunities to engage our students in interesting and practical ways. 

As well as the standard curriculum we offer subjects that are motivational, relevant to the workplace, provide an insight into ourselves and also help us to navigate the world around us. 

Some of the courses and lessons will be:

* Certificate in Work Preparation with a focus on creativity and sustainability

* Literacy Lessons

* QuickSmart Maths

* The Duke (Duke of Edinburgh)

* Baby Think it over (Virtual Baby Program)

* Practical 1: Art and Practical 2: Café

WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTERS



The National Government School Chaplaincy worker program supports St Clare’s with funding to enable self-development and resiliency programs to be offered and these include Student Meeting and GWP. 

The students have the benefit of regular guest speakers as part of the weekly Student Meeting. Each year we also include a number of personal development opportunities: Group work, sport partnerships and excursions.

A number of workshops and presenters have been experienced:

* Nurse Kellie from Mercy College Koondoola to speak at Health lessons

*Netball competition with Sevenoaks Senior College

* A representative of Armed Forces for the Anzac Day Ceremony

* Community Police Officers

* The local Dental Therapist

* Food Bank to work with us on nutrition

* Metro Modelling in GWP for personal presentation workshops

* DAYS (Drug and Alcohol Youth Service)

* Beyond Blue

* DrumBeat – Drumming Therapy program

* Claire Eaton workshop on resiliency

* Mercy Aged Care community service

* RAC Resilient drivers’ program

* Financial Literacy Workshops

* Trading Circle community service

* Homestead for Youth Equine Therapy Program

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community Service is an important aspect of St Clare’s and the girls participate in fund raising events for a number of deserving charities.
