St Clare's students and staff, together with many other schools and organisations, attended Sorry Day 2017 in Wellington Square.

National Sorry Day is an annual event that has been held in Australia on 26 May, since 1998, to remember and commemorate the mistreatment of the country's Indigenous population.

St Clare's students have been preparing for quite a while by creating headbands, wristbands, key rings and pompoms in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders colours.

These then became popular prizes for visitors to our stall, as they answered simple quiz questions about Indigenous facts.

We also prepared a Sorry Day banner, which was ultimately chosen as the winner of the Sorry Day Banner Competition.

The day was a great success and our Aboriginal students and staff shared a sense of pride in celebrating their culture and their history.
