Semester 2 2019

Dixie's Burger Barn

Our last Burger Barn for the year was held this week, with Dixie the chef and design artist behind Bob's Burgers. Simple, no fuss burgers were the order of the day, but nearly 100% of replies to the questionnaire gave them a big thumbs up for flavour and freshness.

Tours of Learning 2019

St Clare's Community gather for the annual Tours of Learning, where family and friends are invited to view the students' work and view the exhibits of their talents.

School Camp 2019

St Clare's School went south of the river for its annual camp this year, spending 3 days at Woodman Point near Coogee Beach. There were many fun activities planned for the students, many being led by the outdoor education specialists attached to the camp.

Our students were once again the beneficiaries of the wonderful generosity of our Fairy Godmothers. Tables of clothes, accessories and shoes were all made available to our students to take home, free of charge.

Remembrance Day 2019

St Clare's community gathered at the eleventh hour of the eleventh month to remember all those soldiers who gave their lives for their country.

Congratulations to Micayla who ran the first of our Smoothie Shacks for her Certificate 2 in Business. The name of her business was Blasted Berriesand her slogan was "You will get blasted into space with just a taste"

R U OK? week

R U OK?Day (Thursday 12 September, 2019) is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you ok?” and support those struggling with life's ups and down . 

Cherry's Pizza Parlour

Congratulations to Cherry who successfully completed her Pizza Parlour this week.

Book Week 2019

Once again the staff and students joined in the fun of Book Week at St Clare's.

Angelico Art Exhibition 2019

The Angelico Exhibition for Catholic Students is a prestigious annual event on the Catholic school art calendar. St Clares submitted three entries from Dixie, Orlarne and Grace.

Ash the Chef and Standing Strong

Today we finalised the first Group sessions of the term. One group enjoyed the calm and relaxing activities from Riki from Standing Strong. The other group was delighted to have Chef Ash who joined us for the “Good Food Good Mood” group.

META Art Exhibition 2019

St Clare’s School congratulates Year 12 student Bek Smith whose artwork titled ‘We Meet Again’ was selected for the highly competitive 2D category for the 2019 exhibition' at Gallery Central.

Pamper Day 2019

Pamper Day came around once again where the whole school community took time to just pause, chill and celebrate who we are.

St George's Art Show 2019

Each year this exhibition gathers momentum as one of the most important art education events in the Western Australian student art calendar, and provides an outstanding opportunity for secondary schools to present students’ work in the unique and beautiful “gallery” of St George’s Cathedral, Perth.


As NAIDOC week fell in the July holidays, St Clare's chose to celebrate it in Week 1 of Term 3.

Australian Institue of Theatre Sports visit

In Group this term, the girls have had a visit from AITS (Australian Institute of Theatresports, where the students play theatre sports.

Good Shepherd Day 2019

St Clare's community welcomed the Good Shepherd Sisters to our school to celebrate Good Shepherd Day.

Our Year 10 students were fortunate to gain insight into skin care and make up application from Melanie, our local hair and beauty specialist.

Excursion to Bounce and Kent St Weir

Students and staff from St Clare's joined forces with the St Francis community to enjoy an excursion together. The morning started with a session at Bounce Trampoline Centre, where several students ( and teachers) exhibited some previously hidden skills! We then joined together for a sausage sizzle lunch at Kent St Weir, where we were blessed with some beautiful weather, after some very rainy weather in the past few weeks.

Once again our lovely Fairy Godmothers provided some things of beauty for the students of St Clare's.

R U legal?

Jen, who is a criminal lawyer employed by Legal Aid, came to speak to the students about young people and the criminal justice system. Using real life cases as examples, Jen described the laws and the consequences for breaking them. Her topics included being in fights, sexting and image abuse.

Lemonade Stand 2 2019

Our newest Lemonade Stand was based on the simple things of life - Lemon Juice, Sugar and Soda Water, but this tried and true recipe brought rave reviews from the assessment surveys.

Zoo Visit 2019

On Wednesday the Year 8 and 9s headed to the Perth Zoo for a fun day of animals and learning.

Sorry Day 2019

St Clare's students and staff gathered with Lauren from the Wirrpanda foundation to remember and celebrate Sorry Day in anticipation of the official day on Sunday May 26.

International Women's Day 2019

St Clare's community were delighted to celebrate International Women's Day this week. #BalanceforBetter is the theme for this year's International Women's Day, which is observed each year on March 8. The 2019 initiative is aimed at gender equality, a greater awareness of discrimination and a celebration of women's achievements, according to the International Women's Day website.

Dragonfly Dreaming Excursion 2019

Students and staff from St Clare's joined Noongar Elder Marie Taylor and her sister Robyn Collard and family members as they made their way around the Kaalitj – ngort Koondaam (meaning Dragonfly Dreaming in Noongar) Walking Trail.

Parent and Carers Meeting and afternoon tea 2019

Parents and Carers gathered at St Clare's for a meeting with both staff and students, as some of the more formal aspects of life at St Clare's were outlined.

Lemonade Stand 1 2019

Our first Lemonade Stand for 2019 was hosted by Grace and received many glowing evaluations. Her secret ingredient was Cranberry juice which ehanced the lemonade with a captivating taste and lovely red colour

Workplace Learning Term 1 2019

Today saw the beginning of the Workplace Learning Placements for five of our St Clare’s Year 11 and 12 students.

Past Students' Afternoon Tea 2019

What a delight to see so many of our past students join us for afternoon tea at St Clare's. Together with our present students we enjoyed a luscious afternoon tea (thanks Maria!) and some soft drinks as we caught up on each person and what they're doing at present.

West Coast Eagles and Fever come to visit St Clare's

St Clare's welcomed members of the West Coast Eagles football teams (both men and women) and the West Coast Fever netball team, as the Eagles continued with their theme of community camps. Adam Selwood led the outstanding group of young people who shared a little of their journey with us.

We're back!

School has resumed for a new year at St Clare's- 2019. We welcome our new students and say "Welcome back" to those who have been enrolled for a while.
